The 2018 Winter Olympics begin February 9th and last until February 25th. The games are hosted at Pyeongchang County, South Korea. The opening ceremony also begins this Friday. It is a ceremony that is expected to be full of life and passion.

About 3,000 athletes will compete for 93 countries and they are competing for a record of 102 medals for 15 different sports. It will also get a bit political at the games since North Korea is making a comeback. Vice President Mike Pence is being joined with the father of Otto Warmbier who died  last year from brain damage when he returned home from North Korea.

North Korea is sending 22 athletes to the Winter Games. They will also march with South Korea underneath a unification flag. Russia will also be there amidst all the scandals of athletes using drugs to enhance their abilities.

This year’s winter Olympics sold out, approximately 842,000 tickets. The Winter Olympics this year are expected to be competitive as usual. From figure skating to hockey, the winter games are going to be worth viewing.
