Listening to music or creating it (you do not need to know how to play an instrument to help reduce any mental health issues) helps lower our cortisol in our bodies and reduces blood pressure, heart rate, and stress levels. When you are in a place where you feel comfortable and you listen to music for a long time it helps make you feel better. Music is a safe way to reduce anxiety.

However, when you are feeling sad, don’t listen to sad music, it is known to make you feel worse. Studies say that those who listened to music were less likely to drop out of school sessions and had higher attendance ratings. Listening to music also helps you socialize and express with others.
