For about the past decade each senior received 10 graduation tickets to give to their family and friends to watch them graduate high school and celebrate their accomplishments, but now, we are only receiving 8. This has outraged many students as there is no apparent reason for taking away two of the tickets. The school has given opportunities to gain back those two tickets by taking the ASVAB or going to the FAFSA workshop. Many students went to the workshop in hopes of gaining their tickets, which they should have in the first place, but an email was sent out that they would not able to get them because of a mistake on the school’s end. Instead of trying to engage students in taking tests and missing class or staying at school longer than they need to be just to get graduation tickets for their whole family to attend instead of picking and choosing, the school should return the original amount of tickets to the students. The end of the year for seniors is already stressful enough with classes, AP testing, deciding on colleges, and senior checkout, so having to decide on who you want at graduation is not something we should have to worry about.
