73-Year-Old With Dementia Shoved to the Ground by Officers

The 73-year-old woman was accused of trying to shoplift $14 worth of items and was approached by police officers on her walk home. She was holding flowers she had picked and turned around confused when an officer called out for her. She said she was going home when the officer grabbed her arm and put her on the ground. After the incident, the daughter of the woman filed a lawsuit, which led investigators to find footage of both officers mocking the woman, saying things like “Did you hear that pop?”, “I can’t believe I threw a 73-year-old on the ground” and “This is great, I love it!”. Three officers have resigned and one sergeant is on administrative leave.
