Florida Governor Signs Restrictive Voting Bill

On Thursday morning, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill aimed at restricting mail-in voting in the state. This bill is joining a number of GOP-led states who have done the same thing prior. Some examples of the restrictions include expanding partisan observation power during the counting of ballots and additional restrictions for the use of drop boxes. Within minutes, multiple organizations, such as the League of Women Voters of Florida, filed a lawsuit after DeSantis signed the bill. A separate lawsuit filed the same day by Common Cause stated that the new law suppresses voters of color and voters with disabilities. Hopefully, something will be done to get rid of this controversial law.
