How Baseball Started

In 1846 Abner Doubleday and six other sports executives labored for three years, after which it was declared that Abner Doubleday invented baseball. In 1846 is actually when the first ever game was played by the Knickerbockers against a team made up of cricket players. Some early forms of baseball had a number of names including baseball, goalball, round ball,  fetch-catch, stool ball, and simply base. But around the 19th century it was heavily revised into the modern baseball we know now. The oldest current team is the Cincinnati Red Stockings now know as the Cincinnati Reds and there are many other teams now with different names.
