A 29-year-old man named James Shaw Jr. saved many lives when he went against the gunman during the shooting at a Waffle House early Sunday morning. Shaw saw the suspect having trouble with the gun, took it from him, and tossed it behind the counter.

He heard a loud noise and he first thought that one of the cooks had dropped a dish when he walked in and he also ended up seeing a body lying at the entrance. He ran toward the bathroom and was hit by a bullet in his arm when the gunman decided to shoot through the glass. The gunman started having issues with the gun which is when Shaw ran through the door and hit him with the door and the gun fell from the gunman’s hand. He ended up running the gunman out of the restaurant and later went with the people who got shot.
