Even though diversity is growing rapidly with America, so is hate speech. Hate speech is becoming more common.

There are countless people online who have recorded their experiences with hate speech from others. We have people that tell others to go back to their country or spew racial slurs. But why is this happening?

People are usually afraid of what they do not understand. Therefore, being threatened by difference, people speak in hatefulness toward those who do not look like them. African Americans, Hispanics, and Muslims have unfortunately been victims of hate speech.

There is hope though, for the future generations to come. Educating the young about hate speech is important because it teaches them that we are all equal even if we look different. This creates tolerance and an open-mind.
