So far, as of August 19, 2019, there have been over 35,000 incidents of gun violence in America. About 261 of those gun incidents are mass shootings. When will all this gun violence end? Many Americans have been asking this same question. But unfortunately, current President Donald Trump hasn’t been trying very hard to change this situation. People have been protesting for gun control, but the government won’t budge. Donald Trump has stated he thinks it is only a mental health problem, which is partly true. He also says that, “It is not the gun that pulls the trigger. It is the person holding the gun.” But just saying this does not help anything. He needs to take action. Just making statements does not solve the actual problem. What if another school shooting happens, and innocent peoples lives are taken? All because there was no gun control. This is a serious problem, not only in the United States, but in other countries. Someone needs to take action immediately, before more damage is done. This will only get worse as time goes on. That is why gun violence must be stopped as soon as possible. We need to save our country from further tragedies.
