In 51 seasons since the Washington Nationals began as the Expos, they had never won the World Series. Last night, that changed when they beat the Houston Astros by a score of 6-2 in game 7. One of the best pitchers in the league, Stephen Strasburg, was named the World Series MVP. The Nationals’ road to the World Series was not easy after barely making the playoffs through a wild card spot. They surprised many people when they won the division series against the LA Dodgers, who were heavily favored. After that they swept the St. Louis Cardinals in the NL championship series. After all the hard work they put in throughout the season, their work payed off. Congrats to the Nats!
