Double-digit rainfall totals were recently reported in parts of coastal North Carolina and also hitting Carolina Beach. A total of over a foot of rainfall is hitting there.
According to WECT, schools are closing and/or releasing early because of this storm.
Carolina Beach Elementary School was closed almost immediately due to the flooding on the streets.
Other schools in the county are also beginning to close down their schools or would be releasing their students two hours earlier as the storm starts to take hit towards them as well.
Areas near the North Carolina-South Carolina border and also including Wilmington are under a level 3 of 4 risk of flooding rainfall as of Monday. Also, a much larger level 2 of 4 risk area is around most of North Carolina and Northern Carolina.
So, the widespread rainfall totals of 4 to 8 inches will drench these areas by Monday tonight. Stay safe.
