There are many months throughout the year that celebrate different people. There is Black History month, Pride month, and Asian Pacific Islander month. Many others are celebrated but one that isn’t a specific month but is celebrated September 15- October 15 is Hispanic Heritage month. People celebrate this month in many different ways. At Elsinore High School we have a quince day, this day where everyone who’s had a quinceanera wears their dress to lunch and have a little celebration. A quinceanera is a 15-year-old girl’s special day that symbolizes becoming a woman. There’s a day to bring your country’s flag to school or wear a sports team jersey from that country. At lunch they play music from different Latin countries. Over 50% of our students are Hispanic and doing all these fun cultural activities makes us feel appreciated. As a Hispanic female I love to see all the different cultures throughout this month.
