Transformers is a pretty well known sci-fi show/movie. It’s basically alien robots who can transform into vehicles. It could be any vehicles, like cars, trucks, planes, construction vehicles, and boats. In Transformers there is a set of main characters: Autobots are good guys, and Decepticons are the bad guys. The main Autobots are Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Ratchet, Arcee, and Elita 1. In the Decepticons team there is Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, and Shockwave.
The first Transformers project ever made was in 1984, a show that had 4 seasons. Maybe your parents know about it. So let’s talk about Optimus Prime and Megatron, since they are the main protagonist and antagonist. So Optimus was originally Orion Pax, and Megatron was D-16. They were brothers in arms, and they cared for each other. They did fool around then and there. But then that all changed, D-16 started to get jealous. He didn’t like the fact that Orion Pax was getting more attention from the Primes. So that’s when he decided to turn on everyone. He wanted to make his own team, which became the Decepticons.
Fast forward around 2 decades and we get our first Transformer live action film, aka “Transformers (2007)”. Its director was Michael Bay and the movie did great. People loved it, and it was getting attention for its CGI. But then the old G1 fans didn’t really like it too much. Because in the live action Optimus was a little too dark, saying stuff like “I’m going to kill you!” , which the fans didn’t like. Even Optimus Prime’s voice actor Peter Cullen didn’t like how it was. Anyways, we a get a total of five movies, but the rest of the films didn’t do so good due to the plot and story getting more confusing. After these movies we did get a spin off movie called “Bumblebee” which did really good. It wasn’t in the Bay-verse. It’s about Bumblebee’s backstory. And then we also got Transformers Rise of the Beast, which also did well. It had mixed opinions though. But overall the Transformers franchise has been getting better. There is a new movie, “Transformers One,” and the critics love it! So I hope you get to watch it. It’s about how Megatron and Optimus Prime became sworn enemies.
