The first Pokemon games as Pocket Monsters Red, Green, and Blue came out on February 27, 1996 by Satoshi Tajiri. Then two years later they came to America but only with red and blue. That’s when it started being called Pokemon. Since then, Pokemon has been one of the popular game series all around the world. There are currently 37 main core games and 9 side series games. There are multiple other series games that have Pokemon in the name like Pokemon Rangers.
