Do you like squirrels? Or do you hate them? In my opinion I love squirrels. They are my 3rd favorite animal, since I like the way they look. They are very cute and small, the baby squirrels are so darn adorable! Anyways, I’m here to drop facts about squirrels. Just so if you hate them, I could probably change your mind about them.
When squirrels are born, they are blind, deaf, and naked, so they have very sensitive skin. When they are born they are completely dependent on their mothers. So imagine, you hit a squirrel with your car on purpose. You don’t know if that was a mother squirrel getting food for her baby. So if the mother dies, and if the father dies or leaves, the baby is all alone. It will die, and thinking of that breaks my heart. So please don’t hit squirrels, or hunt them for sport. Another thing about mother squirrels is they will protect their baby no matter what. There was a video I saw of a mother squirrel protecting and saving her baby from a snake. That shows how they are good at being parents. Both squirrel parents will make many nests just in case one is destroyed, which shows how they are always prepared. They also retrieve their babies anytime they fall out of the nest.
More facts of squirrels: Their parents teach them at a young age how to sharpen their teeth, and how to prevent them from growing too much, since a squirrel’s front teeth never stop growing. Also baby squirrels usually have one parent teach them how to do everything, since squirrels don’t mate for life. The male squirrel is the one that usually leaves since they need to take care of business. Also squirrels can find food through 1 foot of snow. That’s pretty cool, especially for their size. So that’s all that I have about squirrels. I hope you get to grow and love these cute little animals since aren’t they just so cool and cute. Oh, and great amazing parents!
