It first started Wednesday night near Sarasota County’s Siesta Key when Hurricane Milton made impact as a Category 3 hurricane. It first spawned dozens of tornadoes and 28 foot waves, strong winds, heavy rainfall, and a devastating storm surge.
The St. Lucie County retirement village got hit by the dozens of tornadoes brought on by Hurricane Milton, killing six people.
2.5 million homes and businesses have been left with no power, and as for the rest of those who live in the west-central region, more than 50,000 linemen have been deployed to help fix the problem and restore the power.
All wind and storm surge warnings have been discontinued after Hurricane Milton exited Florida’s east cost. But, hazards remain from damaged buildings, downed power lines and flooded waters.
