Peer Counseling is a class Mr. Baker teaches, occasionally giving out assignments of reflecting on your past, or your future. Lessons will be learned, and you will begin to feel like a better person by the end of it. There is no judgment in Peer Counseling–we’ve all got a story to tell, and every story is appreciated. Occasionally, trust exercises will be done, with your table mates or the class, and you’ll grow to love everyone there.
Because you’re a family.
Most if not every Friday, they have Family Fridays. You get together and bond, and this week, we did Just Dance. We had a sweet and creamy cheesecake and danced the whole period, with Mr. Lymon joining us in doing so.
He was an absolute pro at YMCA, and knew the song word for word. Mr. Baker eventually joined in, and by the end of the dances, we were in a bubbly mood. Although not everyone participated, it was okay.
Occasionally you will be pushed out of your comfort zone, but it is for the best, because no one will harm you in Peer Counseling. You will always be given space, and your only requirement in class is to try.
I had a nice time with Peer Counseling, they welcomed me with open arms and I would love for you to be welcome in their family too.
