On October 30, 2024 heavy rain hit Spain causing deadly flooding. There were over 70 regions impacted, mostly located in the southern outskirts of the city of Valencia. People face shortages of basic goods. The death count has reached over 200 people as of November 5. Many streets of Valencia were and are still blocked by piled-up vehicles and debris, in some cases trapping residents in their homes. Power has been restored as of November 1st.
