Small talk is a way to start a conversation with someone you don’t know, but it sucks. Most of the time small talk consists of boring questions like, “how’s your day” or ” how’s the weather” or one of the worst ones “how’s school,” because let’s be real here, no one actually cares how school is going for you, they’re just trying to create a conversation but you probably respond with “it’s alright.” Nothing about these very generic small talk conversation starters are good. What we really need are crazier questions that hook people in on what you have to say like, “do you think aliens built the pyramids” or “do we live in a simulation?” Get creative with new questions the will throw people off guard but still have the motivation to speak and don’t feel afraid to respond back by pushing the question even further by putting your two cents into it. I feel as if normal interaction between people meeting physically has died because we don’t know what to say.
