Alex Pereira is a Mixed Martial Arts fighter who has transitioned from kickboxing where he was a Light-Heavyweight winner in PRIDE. He went to the UFC in Nov 6, 2021 vs. Andreas Michailidis. The fight ended in the beginning of round 2 with a flying knee by the former PRIDE champion to knockout the challenger. This fight and the fashion it ended in gave Pereira a ticket to more fights and bigger exposure. His next fight against Bruno Silva, which was a complete dismantling of Silva, with 165 strikes and 108 significant strikes in a 3 round fight. This fight led to a unanimous decision to give him a fight against one of the best of the best of strikers which would show people where Alex would be in the ranks of strikers. Sean Strickland would be the biggest fighter Alex would go against, but Alex would take care of him in a technical fight until he knocked him out with his signature left hook to get his third win and a row and would be fighting the champion Israel Adesanya. Many people believed he was fast tracked to the belt but the fight would go on nonetheless. Of the first 4 rounds were given 3 to the Champ and 1 to the Challenger the focus of the article Alex Pereira. The fight goes to the 5th round and the favors are in the champ’s favor and then he would start to give Israel some trouble against the cage then hits home with a left hand that stuns him then he gives a right hand that gets Izzy to throw his hands around Pereira, then Alex wails on him to win the fight via TKO.
