Sentinels are currently competing in a Valorant tournament named SOOP Valorant League. Their opening match was against GenG on Tuesday 12 PST. Sentinels vs GenG is a new rivalry that started during Valorant Masters Madrid. They always compete deep into the tournament due to the fact that they are both extremely strong and well known teams with stacked line ups. When they first met in Madrid they had a heated game with barely any room for failure. Every single game they have had has been a breath taker. The two rivals have meet each other again as the opening match for SOOP Valorant League. The opening match started on Pearl, with JohnQT starting as the IGL (In Game Leader) for Sentinels. GenG had Munchkin start as their IGL. As the game progressed GenG took an easy lead during the first five rounds. Unable to hold that lead Sentinels came back and took GenG by storm. The first half ended 7-5 in favor of Sentinels. The second half was way more half sided because GenG could not seem to find an answer to N4RRATE’s unforgiving aim. JohnQT’s game calling gave Sentinels a smooth path to victory and end the match with a 13-8 win over GenG on pearl. Pearl was Sentinels map pick and going to the 2nd match of the night was GenG’s map pick Abyss. The 2nd map between Sentinels and GenG was a must watch for fans of both teams because they would not let up. Both In Game Leaders game calling was immaculate with little to no mistake being made by both JohnQT and Munchkin. The first half ended with a tie at 6-6. The 2nd half of the map was no different simply because yet again both In Game Leaders were just magnificent. The 2nd map ended up going into overtime with both teams making nerve racking plays. Sentinels were with the lead going into the 28th round of the game and GenG had made a random tech pause making it nerve racking going back into the 28th round. Zekken’s great ability of being able to entry site and getting kills was what won them that round giving Sentinels the lead 15-13. Sentinels will be continuing their run into the tournament while their rivals GenG will be making a lower bracket run.
