This Thanksgiving break my family and I decided to drive to Atlanta, Georgia. Yes, drive across the ENTIRE country. You would think we would drive 31 hours to see family on Thanksgiving but that was only part of it. We really drove there just to give my aunt her dog back because he’s too fat to fit on a plane. So not only did we drive across the country but we drove across the country with a dog.
Me, my mom, and grandma all took turns driving only stopping at gas stations along the way. The drive itself wasn’t that bad, just tiring and claustrophobic. Going there: California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia. Going back: Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California.
I don’t know why the GPS had us go a different way back, it was more boring and not that many cities to see so we were just in the middle of nowhere for a long time. Going there we stopped at this little place in New Mexico thinking it would be some good Mexican food but it honestly sucked, they didn’t even have Mexican food. I ended up getting some French toast and it tasted like the bread wasn’t fully cooked in the middle eww. Though on the way back I got the best Taco Bell I’ve ever had in my life in Texas. So you win some, you lose some.
During the stay at my aunt’s house I had to sleep on the loft couch for almost 2 weeks because all the rooms were taken but it wasn’t that bad when my little gremlin cousins weren’t screaming. Thanksgiving itself was fun; we went to our other cousin’s house who lives out there too and I saw a lot of my distant family members. The food was soooooo good, literally was heaven on earth. On the way back home everyone in the house got sick so yes me, my mom, and grandma all drove back home with severe coughs but we made it back safely. In conclusion, I visited 8 new states and missed 8 days of school (the makeup work is killing me) but I had a lot of fun and am glad I experienced it;)
