Most of my favorite series are set during the winter season. My two favorite shows that are centered around the winter are Yellowjackets and The Terror. Both shows show the characters being stranded in an ice wasteland and trying to survive in the harsh climates. As the series progress, both groups are shown to deteriorate mentally from the result of starvation, and hallucinations.
Yellowjackets is about high school girls soccer team as they crash land in the middle of the Canadian forests. This show is set in the 90s, so modern technology had no use for the rescuing of the girls. Throughout the series, the team starts a cult to cope with the paranoia they face in the wilderness, and as a ritual, they begin to hunt each other down.
The Terror is a miniseries about the failed exploration of the North Atlantic ocean in the 1840s. The show is very accurate historically and is based on a fictional novel by the same name. The series shows the effects of lead poisoning, which was very common for the Victorian era.
