Thursday, Mangione was flown from Pennsylvania to New York after he disappeared right after taking the UnitedHealthcare CEO, Brian Thompson’s life, to make his first appearance in the Manhattan courthouse. He was then charged with murder through the use of a firearm, also made from home, facing 11 counts, including two other for second-degree murder. If Mangione is found guilty there is a chance he could face the death penalty, according to prosecutors.
Mangione will now soon be held in Brooklyn, in Metropolitan Detention Center, the only federal prison in New York City and also where Sean “Diddy” Combs is being held as he waits for his own trial.
