On January 21st, 2025, McDonald’s launched its collaboration with the video game franchise Pokemon to select locations across the United States! The new Pokemon Happy Meal will include gift codes for the mobile game Pokemon TCG Pocket if ordered through the McDonalds app, so that anyone who buys one can unlock the following:
- 24 Pack of Hourglasses
- 12 Wonder Hourglasses
In the mobile game, hourglasses are a valuable currency used to obtain new cards. Additionally, the Pokemon Happy Meal will contain a physical booster pack filled with four trading cards, a Pokemon poster, and sheets of stickers to decorate the poster.
The available Happy Meal box designs feature four fan-favorite dragon-type Pokemon:
- Dragonite + Pikachu
- Rayquaza
- Charizard
- Roaring Moon
It’s very exciting to see Pokemon get an overseas collaboration like this. As an avid player of the Pokemon TCG Pocket game, I will definitely be checking out the Happy Meal for myself!
