For the 3 week long break I took a trip to see my family in Las Vegas. I didn’t stay in California with my mom and grandma because my grandma was out of town and my mom doesn’t celebrate any holidays:/ My family in Vegas helped raise me and I have a cousin there that’s the same age as me so we were basically raised as sisters. She’s my best friend, sister, and ride or die all in one. I sadly got sick right before my flight and was thinking of just staying home cause I didn’t want to go and get their whole house sick but my cousin said she didn’t care if I get her sick, she just wanted to see me;) In the end I traveled through an overpopulated airport at midnight in my sickly state and I’m so glad I did, I had so much fun!
I baked and cooked a lot out there since it’s my passion and talent. I made pasta, lasagna soup, tacos, steak, banana bread, cookies, and so much more! My cousin has a big family so everyone got to try my food and give me feedback! I love seeing people’s reactions to my food– it makes me so happy! My cousin got a car and driver’s license so we went out shopping a lot too! I also saw my long distance best friend for the first time in 9 months which was kind of bittersweet. It made me realize were sadly starting to grow apart from each other. It was nice seeing her though, I did miss her a lot.
Every time I go over to my cousins’ house I love it and never want to leave. I never grew up and had things under the Christmas tree, I just got money and most times we didn’t even have a Christmas tree so I again wasn’t expecting anything this year. So you can guess how happy I was when they got me last minute matching pajamas, a Starbucks cup, a stocking, and a blanket. It made me remember what holidays are supposed to feel like;) New Year’s was also super funnnn. A lot more family came down from California and Georgia to all celebrate together. We had a charcuterie board party and I made cheesecake cups! Everyone loved them, the whole box was gone in 10 minutes!
