Sonic the Hedgehog 3 just came out on December 20th, 2024, and has had a very successful release so far. The movie, directed by Jeff Fowler, has an 86% rating by critics, and was scored a 7/10 on IMDb. I personally got to watch it last weekend, and in my opinion, it’s very deserving of its ratings. The movie masterfully merges the art of 3-D character design and the art of live action film to bring the fan-favorite characters of the Sonic franchise to life. An extremely iconic character from the franchise was introduced this way: Shadow the Hedgehog! Voiced by Keanu Reeves, this new depiction of Shadow excited many avid fans of the games, especially those who grew up playing them. However, I would recommend this movie to anyone, regardless if they played the games or not; Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is a movie full of silly humor, good laughs, and incredible animation, and I think anyone could enjoy watching it.
