Minutes after his meeting with Zelenskyy, Trump said on his Truth Social Website that Zelenskyy is ” not ready ” for peace and that he “disrespected the U.S.”
With that being said, the hopes for the minerals deal, which Trump and the allies supporting had presented to Ukraine as a step forward to state peace between Russia and Ukraine, have now been shattered.
The exchange between the two leaders has once again underscored the tension between the United States and Ukraine, which has come since the entrance of Trump into office. Trump has called Zelenskyy a dictator and has claimed that Ukraine started the war instead of Russia.
