As I was just sitting in my thoughts, I made a connection between my favorite show Dexter and my one of my books, Almond by John Won-pyung. In the show Dexter is the main character who supposed to feel no emotion and is trained by his father to function in society and follow a code to not get in trouble. In the book Almond the main character also is supposed to not have any emotions and his mother teaches him how to fake emotions to function in society and follow a set of rules. Also both of the main characters from both of these media watched their significant other get murdered and they could not do anything about it.
