Pasta is a type of food typically made from an unleavened dough of wheat flour mixed with water or eggs, and formed into sheets or other shapes, then cooked by boiling or baking. Pasta dates back to 4th century B.C where an Etruscan tomb showed a group of natives making what appears to be pasta. Did you know that Italy is thankful to Marco Polo for introducing pasta in the country on his journey back from China in around 1271? The Chinese were well known for consuming noodles, especially at the time Polo was in China. Pasta is made from grain, one of the basic food groups in a healthy diet that also can include vegetables, fruits, fish, and poultry.
