Over the last couple of years Manchester United have been one of the Premier League’s Big 6 which include Manchester United and City, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, and Liverpool. But eras come to an end. Ever since the beginning of the 2020’s these big six have been falling out of the top 6 and one of the worst has to be Chelsea and Man. U. The reason I believe Man. U is worse is because of their dysfunctional system. Ever since the arrival of Erik Ten Hag multiple players have been ostracized and put starters on the bench for new younger players. The best example of this is Cristiano Ronaldo. The superstar was put on the bench over players like Rashford and Martial, leaving fans and Ronaldo feeling as if Ten Hag wasn’t competent. Ten Hag has always seen players as his chess pieces not caring what they brought to the table but for what they could do for him. He sent Jadon Sancho on to a “fitness” trip to the Netherlands for several months in an effort to bring his form up but rather alienated him and Ten Hag’s effort to bring his physical and mental fitness up made it significantly worse. He did the same with Ronaldo alienating a club legend and leading him to do a interview with Piers Morgan leading to his departure for a 200 million dollar contract with Saudi club Al-Nassr. Since these departures the team has been falling apart with players bought like Hojlund and Zirkzee putting up astronomically low number and players that have been with the club like Casemiro and Garnacho and Onana being in some of the worst form of their careers. The team is highly dysfunctional winning games against top table teams and then losing against mid and low table teams but still managing to be in the Europa league and winning 4-1 against Real Sociedad. The team’s fate lands on Ruben Armorim who has already faced criticism but the fate shouldn’t be in his hands as managers are always fluctuating in form with the teams success meaning the security of their job and if the manager can’t get a dysfunctional team up his launch out before he can get a chance to win some games.
