Claire Cottrill, known professionally as Clairo, is an American singer and songwriter. She began to produce “bedroom pop” at the age of 13, a genre that consists of independently made music, like those that are written in a bedroom. She gained popularity in 2017 with her single “Pretty Girl.”
Following this fame, in 2018 she signed to the record label Fader Label, which was owned by her father’s friend. Her first album named “Immunity” in 2019 was the first to launch her into the mainstream with the songs “Bags” and “Sofia.” This album landed on the Billboard Hot 100.
After the success of her first album, Clairo released a second studio album called “Sling.” Although it was still well received, it did not land her with the same popularity that her previous album did. Last year, Clairo released her third album which was self-produced and released. Her third album “Charm” received a Grammy nomination and is also my personal favorite album of hers.
