Earlier this week, I decided to discover new music. In my search for underrated songs, here are some that I found and why I think you should listen to them!
Operator (A Girl Like Me) by Shiloh
From the first listen, I immediately fell in love with it! The syncopated main guitar riff, upbeat tempo, and overall high energy instrumentals hooked me. But what made me really like the song was the lyrics. The meaning of the song is best explained by this lyric: “Without a doubt, I know what I’m about, I’m everything I wanna be– A girl like me!” I think it’s a really sweet message to apply to oneself, which is what makes listening to this song as a sort of mantra very enjoyable.
Rest of the World by Steve Lukather
This one’s a little old, but I really liked how the instruments complimented the lyrics! It’s a pretty romantic song, and the instruments do their part in building up to the intimate chorus perfectly.
Constant Headache by Joyce Manor
I loved the vocals in this song. They’re super emotionally intense, and the lyrics are absolutely incredible at helping the listener visualize the scenario the song paints!
