Helldivers 2 is a fast paced FPS (first person shooter) game previously available on both PlayStation and PC, but today as of 1 AM on 8/26/25 PDT, Helldivers is now available on Xbox. This is a gigantic development towards the unification of the gaming community. Since the late 1980’s and early 1990’s “console wars” has been a popular opinion based social construct, originally between Sega and Nintendo, that has now expanded to Xbox and PlayStation. For years both Xbox and PlayStation have had entire game series only released on one console, designated Xbox exclusives or PlayStation exclusives, such as Halo and Spiderman. Helldivers was expected to only be released on the PlayStation console, until earlier this year when Arrowhead Game Studies announced their games’ future arrival to the Xbox game store. This game which was strictly a PlayStation game being released on Xbox could mean more collaborations in the future between Xbox and PlayStation.
