“Ain’t My Last Rodeo,” the album by country music singer Riley Green, came out October 13th, 2023 and I am reviewing 3 of the songs on that album and how they can potentially be related to everyone, and also my personal favorites and why they are my favorites.
3: “They Don’t Make Em Like That No More” talks about how things or people aren’t what they used to be, and how things are changed. The lyrics “I’m still driving that Chevrolet that daddy bought new back in 88, and it’s more rust than two-tone paint, but turn the key and it’ll crank” can be relatable to driving an old car that you can’t have breakdown, or just something that’s old in general. It’s one of my favorites because of how super relatable it is to me about everything that’s old that I have. I would rate this song a 8/10 in my opinion.
2: “Different ‘Round Here,” featuring Luke Combs talks about what they do and why they do it. For example the lyrics “We stand for the flag and if you don’t like it we don’t care because we do things a little different round here” is an example of doing something different in your household, or in your entire family. It’s relatable to me because no matter what rules I had in my house, those were the rules no matter what. I would rate this song 9/10 in my opinion.
1: “Ain’t Like I Can Hide It” shares who he is and that he can’t ever hide it. For example this lyric: “No I can’t hide the skol ring in my blue jeans, hide the small town in my blood, hide the country there are just some things you can’t cover up.” So it can be relatable to anyone just being who they are, being yourself. Now it’s relatable for me because of the lyrics, “if you’ve met me then you’ve met my old man, he’ll look you in your eyes and shake your hand, where I’m from, what I believe, might as well be on my sleeve and you don’t have to wonder who I am.” I have been compared more and more to my father the more I have gotten older, and I have always said I am always myself, which is why this song is an all time favorite for me and I give it a 10/10. It ain’t like I can hide it anyway.
Those were the 3 songs out of the 12 songs in the album I liked.
