As I am class of 2027, I have had my fair share of knowledge on what Homecoming was. For freshman and sophomore year, Homecoming resonated at Mulligan’s Family Fun Center in Murrieta, California.
Ultimately one becomes accustomed to going to the same place every time, and enjoying the environment more and more each time.
However, imagine my surprise when it was announced to be at school!
I am unsure if homecoming had only recently switched to attending Mulligan’s, but the shift of place somewhat rattled me. In a way, I had been hyping up going once more to my other friends who had yet to attend our hoco just to find out that it would be, well, at school. Though I’m not complaining as much as I originally was once the announcement dropped.
At first, my face immediately fell at the idea of having to come to school for a dance. Yes, homecoming is usually set at school anyways, but our school’s tradition of going someplace else really made my want to go even higher. After learning it was because of the anniversary, I continued to have mixed feelings that were just a bit more understanding.
Eventually.. I did cave in when it was said what would happen during the dance. It almost seemed 5x more better than going to Mulligans! So many activities, a good amount of attractions, and food. Free food.
Now with my whole friend group coming for Junior Year, I’m hoping our first dance will end with a bang!
