Imagine sushi is basically the original foodie hack, but from way back in the day in Japan. The main thing to get is that “sushi” isn’t even about the raw fish everyone talks about. It’s about this special, vinegared rice that gives it that slightly tangy flavor. Some people are all about the fancy hand-pressed nigiri with just a slice of super fresh fish on top, while others are obsessed with the maki rolls. The cool part is how a dish that was originally just a way to keep fish from spoiling, kind of like a pre-refrigerator hack, turned into this whole art form that’s now a global obsession.
