On September 7th, Gorillaz released a video on YouTube that showed off “Kong Studios,” an interactive game coming back to the Gorillaz website. This marked off in a lot of people’s heads that they were announcing a new album soon. The interactive game got popular around phase one and two of the band, but was taken down when Murdoc, a character in the band, burned the building down. As such, the interactive game was removed from the website.

On September 11th, they released their official visualizer for the song “The Happy Dictator” on the new album, which is called The Mountain. As of now, the visualizer has 2.3 million views on Youtube.

Damon and Jamie, the main two people who produce the music for the band, have stated how they’re excited for the album. They also mention how they haven’t felt this excited spark for an album since Plastic Beach, an album that came out in 2010.

The Mountain is planned to release fully on the 20th of March, 2026.
