Of course a lot has happened over summer break, but I think one of the biggest parts of it was the sudden growth of AI music covers. Have you ever heard a good song but wondered how it would sound if it was sung by let’s say Beyoncé or Tyler the Creator? Well lately, many apps across all mobile devices have made it so that you can swap out the voice for the people of your choice with just some simple downloading. A couple of popular AI apps that have been frequently used on TikTok are called Musicfy and Voicify. While Voicify is subscription based only, Musicfy offers a free trial to test out the product before purchase. But just because the platforms are available for use doesn’t necessarily mean that the AI cover will turn out good. There’s been quite the array of AI covers that make the original song sound way worse, but these have also been used for entertainment purposes in an attempt to get a laugh out of the viewer, which, from personal experience, have definitely worked. So whether you want to make an emotional masterpiece of a song or you’re just there to hear the AI’s voice crack trying to hit a high note, we live in the future where you can do that yourself.
