Hurricane Hilary destroyed a lot of roads across California but one of those roads happened to be our way back home after visiting my grandparents in Arizona. We left for Arizona right before the storm and had no idea the storm would reach Palm Springs. Our drive there was successful and we got to dinner in time, however, that night it rained extremely hard and we went to bed thinking nothing of it. The next morning my mom woke my sister and I up with videos of the highway we take home, flooded with mud and water. We wanted to go home instead of spending the night again so we took off and hoped for the best. Seven hours later we finally made it home when the drive usually takes us only four hours.
