Hurricane Idalia is Coming to Town

Hurricane Idalia is Coming to Town

If you thought that the hurricane in California was the end of the rainfall this year, then try again. Recently in Florida, many locals have began evacuating their homes as a new Hurricane labeled “Hurricane Idalia” is set to hit land later this week, even potentially hitting parts of Cuba if the storm is strong enough. Hurricane Idalia comes less then a year after Hurricane Ian hit Florida hard during September of last year, leaving multiple homes destroyed and many citizens declared missing. Governor Ron Desantis declared a state of emergency and warns that many people should stock up on supplies while preparing for the high possibility of flash floods. He also warns of the threat of severe power outages and electrical fires caused by downed power lines. So far there have been no reported incidents revolving the hurricane, but many have declared this state of peace to be “the calm before the storm.”
