Over this past weekend (October 20th – 22nd) our FFA officer team went on a weekend trip up to Pathfinder Ranch for the Riverside section leadership conference. At these conferences the Riverside section officers hold workshops to teach different ideals to the groups. All schools with an FFA chapter within Riverside County are invited to the section events. Our very own Sophia Yoshida is Vice President for our chapter and secretary for the Riverside section. Over the weekend we bonded as a team and with our teachers, Jenna Proxmire and Megan Leak. At Pathfinder Ranch they had many activities to participate in like rock wall climbing, an alpine tower, archery, and canoeing. They also had a small assortment of animals, such as pigs, alpacas, chickens, horses, goats and a donkey. On the first night we were there, a lip sync battle was held and our chapter performed Barbie Girl by Aqua. We did not win (even though we should have) but it was still really fun to participate in. Along with the workshops and activities we had lots of free time, so in our free time we played spoons. We have learned from doing so that Ms.Proxmire is very competitive and can be very scary during card games.
