In order to combat tardiness on school grounds, there’s been a new rule implemented to punish kids that appear late to their classes. Now if you appear late to your first or second classes without a late pass or early release card, you can be held in the principal’s office until your parent signs you off to go back to class. Now not only does this sound like an incredibly long process to get back to class, but it also sounds a little humiliating to have your parents bail you out of a punishment. Plus our parents have stuff to do, like jobs, which I’m pretty sure they don’t want to leave to go and grab their kid that just so happened to be 2 minutes late to class. In conclusion, the new tardy rules make no sense and we’d all be better off just sending the kids to class.
