Should Babies go on Planes?

Should+Babies+go+on+Planes%3F

The internet is full of people complaining. Some complaints are valid, some can be dismissed; regardless, everyone’s entitled to their complaints when they aren’t harming others. That being said, I’ve seen a lot of complaining about babies on airplanes, about them crying specifically. So, let’s get into it.

Starting with why they cry; babies cry on airplanes because of pressure changes. There are a lot of other reasons, pretty obvious. Food, changing, nurture needed, etc. Crying is their way of communicating. It’s their way of texting or whispering to their parents. It’s not a way to torture others on the plane.

Now, why complaining about a baby crying is IRRELEVANT. The purpose of a plane is to transport you from one area to another. It is not for luxury. A salon, massage place, library, etc. are used for relaxing. The purpose of those locations are either silence (library) or relaxation (salon). So it’s understandable to not expect a crying baby in those places but a plane specifically? Other people exist, babies exist in public whether you choose to have them or not. A plane doesn’t need to be silent to function so expecting a family not to travel or be banned from a plane because you don’t want to hear it is ridiculous.

How to cope with a baby on a plane: earbuds, or GETTING OVER IT. Anyone old enough to complain is old enough to build a bridge and get over their complaints. People won’t prevent families from functioning in public because it hurts your ears. Bring noise cancelling headphones, melatonin, a tablet, etc. Anything to get over it.
