Jett Lawrence

Is Jett Lawrence over-hyped? Or is he naturally talented? (Part 1 of 2)

   Jett Lawrence,

the 450 SX Rookie, SMX Finale Winner, 450 MX Champion, and previously winner of 250 MX/SX Titles. Jett Lawrence is an Australian native, competing in the AUS Supercross series at age 16.

At 17, he debuted at Anaheim 1, Southern California in the Monster Energy SX FIM World Championship. At this race, he would be running 1st place as a 250 SX Rookie, but under pressure he cracks and ended up breaking his collar bone in a crash before the finish line section. He returns for the 2020 season 6 weeks later to finish 10th overall in the series. For MX, he did solid. Getting a 4th overall for MX, 2020 was done. His former home, Geico Honda, went under. So, he signs with Factory HRC Racing and Redbull as his main sponsor.

In 2021, He does good in SX, achieving a 3rd in the series. For MX, he podiums 8 times, winning 4 of them. He won his 1st ever AMA MX Title.

In 2022, His SX season was amazing. Podium for every race and winning 4 of those. He won his 1st ever FIM Monster Energy SX Title. In MX, he wins 9 out of 12 rounds, defending his MX Title successfully.

For 2023, he switches from East coast to West coast in order to have a championship on both sides… He wins the SX Title make it 2 Titles, West and East.

That concludes his 250 Career. He came over in 2020 at age 17, 4 years later he is 21 with 2 Titles for SX, 2 Titles for MX.

Is he over-rated? I’ll let you decide, but for more info, look for Part 2 which will cover his 450 Career.
