It was finally Halloween night, and the air was cool and full of excitement. Pumpkins glowed on porches, spooky music played from houses, and kids in costumes ran through the neighborhood laughing. My friends and I had planned our costumes for weeks — I dressed as a vampire, while my best friends were a witch and a zombie. We grabbed our candy bags and started trick-or-treating as soon as the sun went down.
Every house was decorated differently — some had fake spider webs and skeletons, and others even had fog machines that made it look like a haunted graveyard. At one house, the lights flickered, and when we rang the doorbell, someone dressed as a ghost jumped out and scared us! We screamed and then laughed so hard we couldn’t stop. The candy we got made it all worth it.
After a few hours, our bags were heavy and our feet were tired, but we didn’t want the night to end. We went back to my house, dumped our candy on the floor, and traded our favorites — I always want the chocolate, while my friends love the sour ones. As we watched a Halloween movie and ate candy, I realized it wasn’t just about costumes or sweets. Halloween was about having fun, making memories, and spending time with the people you love — even if you get scared a few times along the way.
