Nirvana was an American rock band formed in Aberdeen, Washington, in 1987. Founded by lead singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic, In the early years of the band they had multiple drummers who came and went but in 1990 they recruited Dave Grohl who stayed with the band until the end. Nirvana’s success popularized an underground regional scene called Grunge, and they were often referenced to be the flagship band of generation x. their music remains very popular to this day with their three only studio albums being “Bleach” released on June fifteenth nineteen eighty nine, “Nevermind” which released on September twenty fourth nineteen ninety one, and “In Utero” which released on September twenty first nineteen ninety three. Nirvana’s first hit song was “Smells Like Teen Sprit” which released on their album “Nevermind” which was a global phenomenon, making Grunge mainstream and turning the band members into superstars. Some other hit song’s by the band are “Heart-Shaped Box,” “Drain You,” “Come As You Are,” and “Lithium.” The band ended when Kurt Cobain would commit suicide on April fifth nineteen ninety four ending their short but very influential band that is still loved by many people to this day and age.
