We get back to the base. By the time we get there, the sun is already up. We enter and I give him back his blouse. But he shakes his head. “Keep it.” I look up at him with confusion. We soon separate and I miss the feeling of him being close. I quickly ignore it when I reach my room. I step inside and close the door softly behind me. I turn on the light and almost jump out of my skin when I look up. My heart pounds and my panic rises.
“Well, you’ve definitely have grown…” My heart races so loud it rings wildly in my ear. “I suppose this is a bit of a shock.. However we both know this day would come. You don’t expect you can just run from everything. Right?” I clear my throat “Nathan.” I state flatly. He gives me a smirk that sends a shiver down my spine. “I’m glad you can remember my name. It has been oh so long.”
“For good reason.” I do my best to keep my voice steady, but it fails me.
Nathan chuckles in a way that makes me uneasy. “Oh my sweet Vesper… they don’t even know I am here. Well, except for you”
“I do not miss theses games with you, Nathan. So what do you want?” My heart pounds as I struggle to keep my composure. Nathan watches me, studies me like he’s pointing out every weakness with his eyes. “To come back of course. I mean.. We are your family….” That almost makes me snap but I don’t fall for it. I know his games. He’s not going to drag me into his. “Go home, Nathan. I want no part of you anymore.” He gave me an alarming glare before walking past me to leave.
