Markiplier, a Youtube sensation, is finally releasing the movie he had been working on for over 2 years now. Hooray!
After his Youtube series In Space with Markiplier, there was always this itch to create something more. A movie had always been on Mark’s list on creating, and Iron Lung was just enough to reach that.
For context on what Iron Lung is, Iron Lung is a 2020 Indie horror simulation game where an unnamed convict must explore a dark, blood ocean located on a desolate moon in a claustrophobic rusty submarine named “The Iron Lung.” The lore sinks deep (just like a submarine) and is worth checking out just before seeing the movie!
Fun Fact! This movie has now broken the world record of most blood used in a movie (80.000 gallons), beating 2013 Evil Dead reboot.
This movie has been produced, written, edited all by Mark himself. He even stars as our alien convict. From filming in 2023, editing in 2024, the beauty was able to released in early 2026.
At first, it was supposed to only feature in about 60 theaters. The nearest one at our school is near San Clemente. Boo 🙁 BUT! Mark had supported the idea of emailing theaters to ask to play the movie… and it worked! It went to the tens, to the hundreds, then the THOUSANDS! Currently, over 4,100 theaters are playing this movie, including all local theaters near Lake Elsinore! Diamond 8 Cinemas, AMC, Regal, all of it. It is so worth watching and supporting.
I’ve been waiting since the announcement he was making a movie, hearing the podcasts he’s in with updates, watching every trailer release has been wonderful. Now, I will be watching it on its release date, January 30.
