As of now, I have watched Markiplier’s 30 million box office movie: Iron Lung. Originally my rating was a 7/10, now I’d say it’s an EIGHT of of TEN! No deep spoilers though here. Go experience it!
As expected, it’s basically, if not the exact, same as the game. It includes a little bit more detail, and a lot more “lore” to go off. For a few words to describe the movie. . .I’d say bloody, uncomfortable, and a slow-burn. It really encapsulates the psychosis that our main character, Convict goes through. Being forced to travel in a blood ocean in a rusty submarine is not good for any person’s mentality! Progressing from minor hallucinations, to constant yabbering bothering him to the point of urging suicide. It deserves its rating of R. Heh.
Besides all my bias of loving Markiplier and everything he produces, there is some slight criticism I’d like to share. First, it feels dragged out. For the first half of the movie, it is Convict speaking to the Speaker located inside of the Iron Lung and him finding out the ittiest bittiest pieces of his surroundings. After those 30 minutes, the movie practically flies right by. Maybe it could’ve been 15-20 minutes shorter? (Not that I mind the duration anyways.) Second is the ability to be easily confused and capable of misunderstanding the entire plot. The first time I saw this movie I was with my mom. The entire ride home, she was asking me questions and we had a overly-long explanation of everything we witnessed in the movie. Was it fun? Yes! Did some questions feel unnecessary? A bit. Simple criticisms, but I have no other complaints!
In a summary–it was awesome. I was so excited from the beginning to end, and would definitely watch it a third time. Speaking of…
